The Friends of St. Margaret’s Hospital are delighted to report that their Spring fundraiser at the end of March – called a Spring Fayre – has raised a financial record for the charity.
On a lovely sunny day people came from far and wide to Theydon Bois Village Hall, where they enjoyed light refreshments and a Hall full of stalls selling good things- from plants to aromatherapy products, home-made cakes to bric-a-brac, greeting cards to jewellery, shawls to handbags, home-made goods and a range of fashion clothes. The annual very popular Tombola drew lots of custom – and in addition guests flocked to the hit of the day: a very special Raffle.
The Friends are very grateful for the huge effort made by our Raffle organiser, who obtained a long list of very special prizes, donated by many businesses in the Epping and Ongar area.
The total sum made at this year’s Friends of St. Margaret’s lunchtime charity event: just over £2,402. This will help hugely to provide special gifts requested by wards and departments – items which the NHS budget cannot supply. Thank you to everyone who came to enjoy the day, and to support our LOCAL HOSPITAL.
